Clause 12, Article 1 of Decree No. 85/2021/ND-CP effective from January 1, 2022 (amending and supplementing Article 30 of Decree No. 52/2013/ND-CP) stipulates: " Information about goods published on the website must include mandatory content shown on the product label. According to the law on product labels , except for information that is specific to the product such as: year, month, date of manufacture; expiry date; batch number; frame number, engine number. ".

On December 9, 2021, the Government issued Decree No. 111/2021/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP dated April 14, 2017 on product labels. Accordingly, Decree No. 111/2021/ND-CP amending and supplementing Article 10 of Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP on mandatory content displayed on product labels takes effect from February 15, 2022 as follows:

Product labels of goods in circulation in Vietnam The following content must be shown in Vietnamese :

a) Name of goods;

b) Name and address of the organization or individual responsible for the goods;

c) Origin of goods.

In case the origin cannot be determined, the place where the final stage is performed to complete the goods must be recorded according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 15 of Decree 111/2021/ND-CP;

d) Other mandatory contents must be shown on the label according to the nature of each type of goods specified in Appendix I issued herewith. Decree 111/2021/ND-CP and relevant legal regulations.

In case the goods have properties belonging to many groups specified in Appendix I issued together with Decree 111/2021/ND-CP and not yet specified in other relevant legal documents, the organization or individual responsible for the goods shall, based on the main function of the goods, self-determine the group of goods to record the contents as prescribed in this point.
